Cocoa powder is the only colourant in Sunnbalm. More cocoa = deeper tint. Less cocoa = bare. The slider on the product page lets you blend to your skin tone — Linen through Walnut — and we batch your jar to match.
We use unsweetened, alkalised, food-grade cocoa from West African and Latin American producers (audited fair-trade where available). Single ingredient, single processing step, single source.
Cocoa is naturally polyphenol-rich. Flavanols are the studied compounds — well-documented for their antioxidant activity in both oral and topical applications, with a growing body of research on skin-health effects.
It also lends a faint, gentle cocoa scent to the balm. We don't add any synthetic fragrance.
