Solid in the tin, balm on contact. Body heat takes it from solid to slip in about three seconds — no rub required, just press and it goes. It lands like a moisturiser, not a film.
Tallow's lipid structure is close enough to your own sebum that the skin recognises it and pulls it in. You feel it disappear into the surface, not sit on top.
The texture changes with the seasons. Cooler months: firmer in the tin, takes a beat longer to soften. Warmer months: nearly liquid when you open it. We don't add stabilisers to flatten that out — what you get is what four ingredients honestly produce.
The cocoa adds a faint, gentle scent. We don't add fragrance.

- Grass-fed beef tallow
US-sourced from regenerative grass-fed and grass-finished cattle operations. Rendered low-and-slow — no bleaching, no solvent extraction, no deodorising.
- Non-nano zinc oxide
Cosmetic-grade, non-nano (>100 nm particle size). Sourced from a USP pharmaceutical-grade supplier and tested for heavy-metal and micro-contaminant content per batch.
- Beeswax
Pure, unrefined beeswax from US apiaries that don't dye, bleach, or chemically treat the wax. No antibiotics across the hive lifecycle.

Tallow is rendered fat — historically the base of every body balm before petrochemicals replaced it in the 20th century. Grass-fed tallow specifically is rich in fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K, plus conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) and a stable fatty-acid profile dominated by oleic, palmitic, and stearic acids.
Its lipid composition is uncannily close to human sebum — the oil your own skin produces — which is what gives it its rare absorbency. Skin recognises the structure and pulls it in instead of pearling it off the surface. That's the difference between a balm and a film.
We use US-sourced, 100% grass-fed and grass-finished tallow rendered low and slow. No bleaching, no deodorising, no solvent extraction. What's in the tin is what came off the heat.
It carries the zinc and the cocoa with it as it melts — that's the engineering. The other three ingredients are along for the ride on the tallow.
