Zinc oxide is the most-studied physical skin-care mineral on the planet — it's been used in topical balms for over a hundred years.
We use a non-nano grade (particle size larger than 100 nanometers) so it stays on the surface of skin instead of entering the bloodstream. This is the only mineral in the formula.
Important: this product is not registered with the FDA as a sunscreen, and we make no UV-protection or SPF claims. Zinc oxide is included for its mineral skin-care properties.
